Just signed up with the board (Thanks Leon) I have been a lurker for a little while now, and thought I'd join up. I was one of the those that collected in the late 1980's sports card boom and rediscovered the hobby.
At first I tried collecting all the cards I had as a kid from the late 80's and went back to about 1980. I was mainly into baseball and hockey. I know value wise it was no big deal, but man it brought back memories and there was a lot of sentimental value there.

Then about a year ago, I thought I am going to get into some vintage stuff, as it retains its value and even if it doesn't go up, at least I get the enjoyment of looking at vintage cards! So then, I bought a few Topps BB sets in 1970's got some hall of fame rookies etc.
Then about 6 month ago, I went on a journey to build a low to mid grade 1956 topps set (good year IMO) and also since I don't have deep pockets I thought low to mid grade would suit me well. Well as of today, I have about 2/3rds of the set complete. This was put on the back burner for now.. as I am getting into some T206 cards.
I have 11 so far, but slowly looking for more. I've decided to try and build a major league set (Just one of each player) I am doing research on this now, and I believe there is about 256 give or take a few. This of course would be low grade and it is going to go long term, just getting a couple of them per month, etc.
