I think it comes down to the ability to pick up uncut sheets. If there are uncut sheets of an issue than the premium of miscuts is low to nonexistent (sometimes lower in value). Miscuts are still fun to collect, but they seem to command a following (and thus a premium) when there is mystery of the production and distribution of the cards.
