Possible reasons:
1) 47 career home runs 2) Pictured on Philadelphia A's. Moved to KC then Oakland. Not a big team fan base like still existing Chicago Cubs or Boston Red Sox. 3) No name cachet. Not someone people on the street know like Tinkers/Evers/Chance. 4) How much are Paul Molitor cards worth? That would be the modern comparison.
