To answer your question, if you want to sell something, post it! Members are vetted here by the owner Leon and he has contact information for them, so if things go ugly, you at least have some sort of recourse. But, it IS "caveat emptor" so act accordingly. As far as trades go,make a post and then work out the details with the other party and you can always make a post about how good a seller/buyer/trader person XYZ is. If you have any questions, you can always search the potential other party's old posts and find their buy/sell history and contact who they made a deal with via PM. I have made 4 or 5 deals on here over the past 6 months and I can say that the folks here are generally very cool and easy to work with. If there is gonna be a delay with payment or shipping, keep them in the loop and they are understanding! hope this helps!
