While the '52-'56 Topps issues are slightly larger than what became standard in 1957, those earlier cards (see below) will fit in standard sized semis just fine. The '53-'55 Bowman issues will also fit.
Earlier Bowman are smaller and will fit with more room to spare. IMO, It is best to have the card within a flexible sleeve within the semi, but it may be too snug to do that with the '52-'56 Topps issues. That's just the way I store them...others may have different ideas. 1956 Dale Mitchell.jpg
