Hi Guys,
The player on the right is pitcher Bob Habenicht. He was in 1 game with the '53 Browns, and had broken in with the 1951 Cardinals. He is on a 1951 Cardinals team issued postcard that used a minor league photo and was headed "The Cardinals introduce...". Google Bob Habenicht images and the postcard will come up. It is definitely him. Habenicht's only regular season game for the Browns was on 5-3-53 at home against the Red Sox, but I think that picture was taken on 4-19-53 in Detroit. It is obviously cold and overcast, and it looks like it is snowing lightly. I checked the weather for Detroit on 4-19-53, and the high temp. was 40 with light snow showers from Noon - 2:00 pm. Hope that this info. helps, Jeff Last edited by Jeff Alcorn; 06-10-2017 at 02:43 AM. Reason: Add more information |
