Ride the Blue Line from Rosemont downtown, transfer to the Red Line. The entire trip will take between 1-1.5 hours each way. The transferring is not complicated, but getting on the Red Line going back will be very crowded and may take more time.
If you wish, you can stay downtown and go to a restaurant or sight see before taking the Blue Line back to your hotel.
