On April 23, 1946 Bob Feller pitched his 2nd of 3 career no-hitters.
He always said this was by far the best one that he ever pitched. The reason was obvious: He pitched it against a dominant NY Yankees team stacked with great hitting team that included 3 HOF'ers: Joe DiMaggio, Bill Dickey and Joe Gordon. Here is an original birds-eye photo that I just picked up of Rapid Robert pitching to Joe D. in what he viewed as his peak career moment on the mound.
