In the last month, I decided to go for a more complete post-war vintage football collection (to go with the '71 set I mentioned above)
Got a mid-grade '60 set b/c I like the footballs on the front and I still needed a Jim Brown, Sam Huff, and a few others from that era. And the cost is reasonable. Then my favorite football set from a little further back: a '50 Bowman. It's low grade but presentable, and I love the backgrounds (especially the Tittle rookie). Those three sets, along with the '81, '84, '86, and '89 (score) that I still need to find some commons/minors for, are gonna make a great complement to my baseball and basketball stuff, and covers everything pigskin that I ever hoped to have
