the market is what the market is. I have lost out on many cards because I convinced myself they were overpriced by looking at last sales, or telling myself I would find another. I just bought a few common back raw T-206s on Ebay, probably all VG. I paid roughly $55 each. that is a lot for raw T206 commons. but if those cards were listed here for $35-$40, they'd be sold by the time I opened the thread. The green Cobb that was listed here a few months back for a good price was gone in seconds. These deals are hard to come by, and if you wait around it will take a century to finish a set.
The cornucopia of great deals out there is a myth. I am in the market daily- here on Net54, at auctions, and on Ebay buying all sorts of cards at all sorts of prices, spending a good amount of money in aggregate. I know the market. I know the market better than the guy here who screamed at me not to pay $6600 for an REA red cobb that was a 7 except for a barely noticeable pinhole (the one that got away). Cards are expensive, because a lot of people collect them. it is what it is .
