Speaking as a cataloguer, we would get or see checklists and usually take it as a leap of faith the information was correct. If we found out something different we would remove those cards from the list.
However, every once in a while we would leave in a card which we knew did not exist. The reason, if someone copied your checklist, you could go to court and properly claim plagarism. So there is that as well. Rich
