During Game 4 of the 2001 World Series, shortly after midnight, the calendar page turned to November 1st. There had never previously been November baseball; however, the events of 9/11 altered the schedule that year.

In (what I believe was) the first November MLB at-bat in history, Derek Jeter hit a game-winning home run. The Mr. November moniker was quickly bestowed upon Jeter and persists to this day.
