Hi-
I do not believe the decal is original to the bat as I am not familiar with any bats of that era having a decal. What is on the knob itself? The damage to the knob is not too unusual as a lot of older bats have similar issues. If the knob does not have inch marks (35" or 5 or something like that) and instead is either blank, or has a model number (S166 or something like that) it is most likely a gamer.
