1. Someone on the playground had the 1971 Brooks Robinson WS card, "B. Robinson commits robbery!" That image has stuck with me to this day. I eventually added the card to the collection. 2. Sticking with 1971, the Thurman Munson card. What a great action shot. In little league, on game day, I was usually behind the plate, so I had an affinity for cards of catchers. Plus, any card with the gold trophy on the front was deemed better than any other card and was super cool! I kick myself for not picking up this card when it sold for around $100 (PSA 7). Now, a PSA 7 card averages about $750. Some day. 3. The 1973, Gene Tenace card. I just liked the phrase "Tenace the Menace" The seniors out there, should know the reference. I have yet to pick up this card, but I will. Which cards from your youth, when the value of the card did not matter do you vividly remember? Last edited by Huck; 05-10-2023 at 12:21 PM. |
