			Not rare, but he's my favorite pre-war Cub and this was the specific card I wanted for him in my collection. He started his Cubs career at age 27, but he managed to set a number of team records and is top-10 in many more. Cubs wins, the only one with 200 wins (201). Games played, the only one with more than 500 games played...or 600 played (605). Innings pitched, #1 and only one of 2 with more than 3000 IP (3137.1). He was a starter, a closer, middle relief, mop-up...you name it over 16 seasons with the Cubs. He wasn't great, and he wasn't awful. He was consistently good with a 3.55 ERA and 1.29 WHIP. 16 seasons as a Cub and he brute forced himself into many team records and the team HOF. Salute. |
