Andruw Jones was a good player but when I think of other fringe outfielders who did make it into the Hall, I think they all had more overall productive careers than he did. Guys like Billy Williams, Jim Rice, Vlad, Larry Walker, etc. I don't think Jones was in their class. They were productive deep into their careers and he just wasn't good for very long at all.
He was a 250 career hitter and he didn't hit 500 homers. Not sure he really has a place. HOFers with the lowest career batting averages: Ray Schalk - 253 Rabbit Maranville - 258 Harmon Killebrew - 256 Andruw Jones - 254 Last edited by packs; 11-30-2023 at 09:08 AM. |
