I feel like one was offered by an auction house not so long ago.
They're not common; expect prices to reflect that. But the first thing will be actually locating one. If it's a gift, let's just say it had better be a reeeeeaaaaalllly good friend! It's kind of like choosing between a MacPhail single or a very good, fairly new, reliable used car for a grandkid. Another thing to consider is that MacPhail was extremely prone to personalize on baseballs. So, unless your friend is also named "The Covington, KY Rotary Club", that might be something that gets in the way. You may wish to try to convince your buddy to opt for something less lofty, as MacPhail autographs are certainly out there on much cheaper mediums. More like a weekly grocery budget for a healthy family of 3-4. Last edited by BillyCoxDodgers3B; 10-22-2024 at 05:37 PM. |
