Thanks Dan. I grew up in the Bronx--pretty close to Yankee Stadium--and would hang out at the players' entrance (mid-60s) for autographs. Around 1965 I became interested in the 1920s Yankees, and obtained my first Ruth and Gehrig autographs in 1966. Collecting stopped when I went away to college in 1968, then graduate school, jobs (I'm a physics professor), marriage, children, etc. |
