Of Wildfire, Willie and Curtis
Posted By: paulstratton
With one more stolen base, Tigers CF Curtis Granderson will become a member of a pretty exclusive club...(I'm coining it the "420 club"). In the history of baseball only Willie Mays and "Wildfire" Schulte have ever had at least 20 triples, 20 doubles, 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in a single season. What I find remarkable is that Schulte actually hit 21 bombs in 1911, when it just wasn't done. Show some "Wildfire" cards if you have em or tell us about other "exclusive clubs" which involve pre-war players. |
