Hi, Brian.
I am also an entusiast of the set, but am putting together the HOFer set instead of the commons. With the low end commons, I have found that it really depends on their appearance. If you truly don't care at all what they look like, then you may be able to get some at what would have been considered "steal" prices from a couple of years ago. Has the market softened on them from their peak? Yes, but they are still quite desireable and quite rare, so that, in itself has helped their value. I agree with the sentiment that true beater commons won't be $1K (unless they are exceptionally rare). Good luck and let me know if you run across any HOFers! Brian |
