Hey Toby,
I can't really help with the DiMaggio shot for sure, but it looks like to me that it's not a super vintage signature. With the Ruth, it's definitely from the 1934 All-Star Game (7/10) at the Polo Grounds. I'd know that grandstand anywhere! And of course, there's plenty of historical significance from that date, as Ruth was one of the five consecutive victims of Carl Hubbell's screwball. They're a few similar shots of both him and Gehrig taking batting practice from that same angle, and almost every single one of them is killer. Your Ruth certainly falls in the same category.
