Don't ever be timid about making a "best offer!" They are accepted, all the time, in all walks of life................just how do you think I got married???
By the way, a bit O/T but here is a classic example of a "best offer" slowly wearing a seller down. The guy wanted $300,000 but 16+ years after Al Gore invented the internet, he settled for $200,000.
