Broadsides would have been on thicker, tag board material, not thin paper that has to be held down so it won't roll up. It reminds me of the "Wanted" posters of Billy the Kid and other outlaws that I used to get when I was a kid visiting Old Tuscon. They were made to look old and meant for fun when they only cost $1!
But the girls holding the poster down do have good manicures!
