Best post-war pickup would have to be the '53 Topps artwork for Vinegar Bend Mizell from REA. That was a great selection they had but it kind of made you wonder where the primo ones were - the Mantle, Mays etc.
Other pickups were a Stahl-Meyer Bobby Thomson as a type card for the set - a good representative, no?, a decent '54 Topps Ernie Banks - a sort-of tribute card to my ancient young self in that it was the very first baseball card I ever owned back around 1955 or so, a raft of Dormands including Stengel and Ellie Howard, and a couple of photos I liked from Mears - Yogi and Joe Adcock taking their cuts. ![]() ![]() ![]()
