| Rare back

Leon, that's a great idea for one of your poll questions, "which do you consider to be a T206 'rare back' (check all that apply) and why?"

T206Resource ranks it #20 out of 39 *(including Cobb back). Since it's not even in the top 50% of backs, no, I wouldn't consider it rare. However if you do, it's certainly your right to. I thought maybe you had something else with a true rare back for sale? (one at least being in the more scarce 50 percentile)

| Epdg

I don't want to turn this thread into a discussion, but.... EPDG is definitely a tougher back...only a handful on Ebay right now and people pay a premium for them. Really it depends on how you define "rare", but I certainly would not downplay EPDG as a common back. Maybe call it a mildly rare back??? So I think the OP is correct in his assessment

My last post in this thread is that I should add that I have had great dealings with Rob (Trobba) over the years. No worries and a great collector.

I'm more inclined to think rare is something you see less than 5 out of 100 cards as opposed to ranking.

I agree with Jon, we have no way of knowing the rarity from the ranks...just which is tougher and more scarce.

Totally inpropriate, IMHO, to challenge EPDG as a rare back in this thread. If you want to debate those merits, save it for the main forum. This seller has some terrific T206s for sale -- that should be the only thing worth discussing here.

I think the reason it has merit is because it was presumably used to draw eyes to the listing. Since that's the purpose, the validity of the claim is fair game.

In my honest opinion, epdg backs are not rare, but somewhat uncommon. I have a card available if someone wants the best of both worlds ( low pop., and epdg back) psa 6 rebel oakes...Where are the Master set collectors when you need them??

| rare backs....

Seller is awesome guy no doubt.....point well taken should be discussed on main board Paul ....but at least more "bumps" mike maybe a few more eyes and more exposure for Mike.... Jay is right also, when you hear "rare" backs, can't click fast enuf to thread only wanting more when u find out they or it is just "tufer" ....like a little dissapointing..... NEVER MIND THIS RUBBISH GOVENAR!!!!ON WITH THE SALE AND GOOD LUCK My appologies if i hijacked this sale... Peace V |
