The debt, Jason, came from unfunded wars. You wanna have a war? Fine. But wars are expensive. So you raise taxes to pay for them. (Check your history. See how we paid for WWI, WWII, the Korean War, etc.)

You don't start two wars, and lower taxes.

It causes huge deficits.
