I was looking to upgrade my t206 O'Leary, so off to eBay I went. Mike Wheat had a nice ex card, but I noticed a bright red spot under his eye. Is this normal? I have noticed some others that seem to have the same spot, just not as pronounced. Some appear to not have the spot. Insights?

Please check out my books on baseball history. They include the bio of star second baseman Dots Miller. A book featuring 20 Moonlight Graham players who got into just one game. Another with 13 players who were with the Pittsburgh Pirates during the regular season, but never played a game. There's also one about 27 baseball families, as well as a day-by-day look at the worst team in Pittsburgh Pirates history. That's just the presence or absence of the second red layer.

If you look closely all the ones that look like he's got lipstick have the red over the eye. There's a number of cards with this sort of difference. The one that comes to mind is Dygert. Lipstick/no lipstick. I guess technically they're missing colors, but I think it's intentional since they're also fairly common. Steve B |

Do you think the players on these cards took a ribbing when the registration was off just a little and it looked like they had trouble putting on their lipstick?
