Just hit the ball
His most amazing stats are not on the card. In over 10,000 plates appearances he struck out only 216 times, never more than 18 times in a season. He didn't walk much either, only 719 times.
Perhaps the best contact hitter of his era and never one like him since, putting the ball in play over 90% of the time. I bid a resounding $4.00.
