| Famous and Barr Card Size

I recently won a PSA 1.5 M101-4 Famous and Barr Roy Hartzell. Its clearly undersized but received a grade. Is there much variation in size on these cards? All my other M101-4s seem consistent.

You actually won an m101-5 F&B Hartzell. The reason I differentiate is because m101-4 F&Bs, at least numbers 1-20, are slightly larger (usually just wider), so if you only have those to compare that could be why. F&Bs as well as other m101-4/5s can vary noticeably in size. What are the measurements on yours? If this is the card you won then I believe it's good; in fact, it does not look narrow at all and at most a touch short. For contrast, here's an m101-4 F&B fatty and then a somewhat skinny/short m101-5-- each is outside the "norm":

Thanks for the input. this is the card. Its hard to measure through the slab but holding it against other M101-4s I have it is about the correct length but def slimmer. I need to bone up more on the difference between the m101-4 and m101-5. Thanks again.

| Famous and Barr question

I am reviving this post because I saw a Famous and Barr card today (of Casey Stengel) that had perforations along the right side. Is anyone on here aware that these cards were reprinted and/or has anyone seen one with perforations?

| Dover reprints

Yes they were reprinted--type in "Dover reprint baseball cards" and you'll see at least one book of reprinted cards from a whole slew of pre-war sets. The Stengel, Robinson and Roush were all reprinted in this book with Famous & Barr backs. Here are a bunch on ebay now for under a buck:
