Note: not my finger in the photo! I'm a woman and I don't have hairy knuckles!

Those pictures are incredible. Thank you for sharing them.
My fascination with Shoeless Joe Jackson has increased exponentially within the last few years. I'd love to visit his museum. Why does it not surprise me that MLB said no to the name change. They're officially the no fun league.

GiGi is a wonderful lady who does a fantastic job at the museum. My wife and I visited her place back in February. That was my first visit to the museum and had a fantastic time. She does an exceptional job of telling the story of Joe Jackson. She saw that I was wearing a Coast Guard jacket and we struck up a conversation about her father serving in the Air Force.
I would highly recommend visiting if you are ever in or near Greenville. I will post pictures of our visit once I download them. r/ Frank

As far as I am concerned any stain on the Joe Jackson name has been polished off a long time ago! Awesome pieces GiGi,thanks for sharing! Figures MLB wouldn`t allow the name change, should have told them the team was being named after Bazooka Joe. I wish a long and succesful major league career for this "new" Joe Jackson.

Welcome to the board, GiGi, and if I'm ever down in SC I'll be sure to stop in. Shoeless Joe might be the biggest "what if" in baseball -- who knows what amazing stats and accomplishments he would've achieved had his MLB career not been cut short?
By the way, you might be interested in this thread from awhile back in which a collector pointed out a sliding Joe Jackson on the center panel in the T202 set. There's some good detective work in the thread, and the board helps in the discovery of a "new" Shoeless Joe baseball card within the hobby. Last edited by CW; 06-08-2013 at 10:16 PM. |

This is great information. My office is off Pelham Rd. I never knew the museum existed, but will certainly be coming by for a visit.
