 1000 autographs x 10 experts = 10,000 examinations. The original dealer was paid $30-40 per autograph so guestimate he paid $5-10 (?) per examination. Do the math, does this work out? I think not  In addition the player himself has now said he has seen autographs that were authenticated, on ebay, but not authentic.
