Ok John,
You've piqued my interest. What did you get the '62 Mantle for? That is one year of his cards that I believe to be undervalued. Nice card.

Nice eye appeal on the 2.5 Bowman Mantle.
I hope that isn't a pen mark on the Mick's forehead on the 62 ? |

Great cards so far. The '52 is off the charts, Bob. And Dave's initial entry has me still going back to see if I can see an iota of "off-centeredness". And so many other greats ones shown, very nice...
' Don't know what the technical grade will be but this '51 has some good eye appeal in hand in light of the wrinkle/crease running vertically on the right. It runs about 63.5% of the width of the card (that's a joke but it might be close). Oh well.... My goal as an auctioneer was to have the card in hand look exactly the same as on the screen. I remember adjusting a few settings so they would come out that way when the lucky winner viewed them in hand. This looks as good or better in hand. When I first got into collecting again, as a 30 something, I had a PSA 6 1951 Mantle and eventually sold it when I went backward, time-wise, into pre-war. This card probably has better eye appeal, the crease not withstanding than that first one.

That Mantle rookie looks better than MANY sixes and sevens. Centered and registered. Savvy pickup, sir.

This isn't a pick up yet, but I was hoping someone here could tell me about this and it's potential value? There may be a whole case of them?
These are available in an Estate Sale I am going to tomorrow morning. I am posting a different thread on the sale and other items in it, so you may see this twice. Thanks in advance, Chris |

Chris, the picture contains issue one and two of the magazine. They were released in 1991 and 1992. It looks like you can pick them up for less than five dollars shipped from eBay--there is one at .99 with free shipping right now.

I wouldn't. They are great in strip form. And there are plenty of individual ones graded already.

Also, and more importantly, unless it's just a bad photo, I'd say you won't get a very high grade for the cut out Mantle. He's missing the top of his head/hat.

Best bet on this is Authentic. You're better off getting it slabbed as a 3-player panel as Authentic than cutting the Mantle off.

1951 Bowman followed by 1952 Topps. Just like in real life, his rookie card followed by a second year card.
Sweet stuff for breakfast. Great pick-ups gents!
