OT: great hat, Scott. Any chance Yogi is wearing his presentation hat in this photo from Phoenix in 1951? Just picked this up and your hat info seems to fit.

A very rare one year style from 1994 that was only worn in 3 games that season.
As far as I know only a handful are in private hands. This one is photomatched.

The best part is I picked it up the day my 2nd child was born!

Needless to say, this one will be buried with me...

Your pic is probably part of the whole western thing the Yankee's owner was doing during Spring Training that year in Phoenix, but it looks too dark - these hats were a light tan - and the brim is too flat. Del Webb had a lot of money and didn't mind spending it to entertain his friends and his new team.

I think its doubtful they originate from the same time frame, as Yogi's visage is much more youthful in the Berra/Bauer photo.

Just my two cent.
