I can see both points of view. I have seen someone say they are taking offers on a 5 figure card and also say, please don't lowball me, or something like, "lowball offers will get no response". However someone wants to sell is up to them.

I guess a few other things are worth mentioning while we are here too (not aimed at you, Scott). If anyone posts 20+ threads, in a single day in one of the BST forums, expect some flack and pushback. There won't be rules to ensure common sense. Those issues will be taken as one offs.

I had a member tell me he didn't think he had made a deal on a $50 BST transaction, yesterday, when he told the other party "Let's do it". I asked him to help me understand how that wasn't a commitment?
That being said he didn't respond to multiple attempts by the other party to get ahold of him to consummate the deal afterwards. When I asked him about it 5 days after he said "Let's do it" (yesterday) he said it wasn't a big deal and big whoopdi-do. I let him know it is a big whoopdi-do, on this board, when you blow someone off on completing a deal OR AT LEAST communicating about it after it was done. He went onto tell me he has done over 100 deals on the board and all were great. I basically said "great, but why did you blow this other guy off on this deal?" After some more excuses and squirming the guy thought the other guy was wrong and I was wrong. I said thanks. Suffice it to say he is on a short leash. The whole thing reminded me of any issue where someone is blamed for something and their immediate response is "you can't prove it".....nuff said.

ps...after brief communications BBB is back on the BST, 25 of his 26 threads not so much

I tried selling a few items on the BST but got frustrated dealing with other sellers who bumped their listing almost every day. My listings would quickly get pushed down.

I also, think that the BST posts should not be a place for a conversation which will bump the listing to the top every time someone responds. If you want to have a conversation, then start a post outside of the BST.

"Hey Beautiful card". bump
"Thanks" bump
"Your Welcome" bump
"I've never seen one like this before" bump
"Nice weather today" bump
"Yeah" bump

I agree with all this.

My biggest frustration is this: The vast majority of people on here are courteous, but there are a handful that use the BST as their personal ebay museum. I don't really know what can be done about it. If a person is bumping their ridiculously priced item every 3 days, they are technically within the rules, even if they are being incredibly tone-deaf and rude to everyone else who is using the BST in a courteous manner.

I think it also hurts the listing with the longer the card is on the market. People start looking at it like a red headed step child. Not all bumps and price reductions are good. I don't think I've ever personally bought something that had more than 2 post on it other than a currency I just got which had a question to what year it was.

Don't put eBay spam in the main bst categories. There is a separate section for eBay items. This seems to happen lot.

[QUOTE=Leon;1618371]I can see both points of view. I have seen someone say they are taking offers on a 5 figure card and also say, please don't lowball me, or something like, "lowball offers will get no response". However someone wants to sell is up to them.

What's funny is an offer for over twice what the card sold for in 2008 in Heritage was deemed lowball (lack of no response) which is 100 percent profit. I would think some kind of response would be warranted.

Another great success story is too sell a five figure card by taking private offers and the highest offer is 10-15K higher than the second highest offer. I guess in that case it's best to not post the price publically.
