| Memory Lane Auction Auto Pickups

Needless to say, I am pretty excited. I added 3 new HOFer autos last night courtesy of the Memory Lane Auction... And the biggie... The Maranville and Bender are PSA/DNA Pre-certified and the Clemente has a full letter from PSA/DNA. All three will be heading for slabbing and grading when I get them. |

The PSA Registry is crack. And it might increase the value a little. |

That's a nice haul from that auction. Love that Maranville.

Getting them slabbed won't increase the value enough to warrant the cost of slabbing them in my opinion. It will only protect them and you can do it cheaper yourself . Slabbing may help sell them if you sell them but again you won't see a great increase in value . I say put the money you would pay for slabbing to another autograph . |

I agree if you have to pay their published prices. I have a deal with PSA where I can get them stabbed and graded for $16/ea for Maranville and Bender and $25 for Clemente. That is worth it to me. Last edited by Moyni; 01-15-2017 at 09:45 PM. |

I generally only collect autographed memorabilia, letters or index cards, but if I were going to collect pieces like this, or especially the ones with odd shapes from slicing around other autographs on a sheet, I would consider getting them slabbed. I like the idea of having them both protected and a uniform size. But my first thought when acquiring something like your examples, would be to mat and frame them with a nice photograph. In those cases, if you really need the LOA, you can get one that has a photo of the item on it.
