In that case I would say you did just fine. The contrast issue seems to affect maybe 20% of the autograph. While I can see that affecting the value somewhat, I don't think that it is a major concern.
Also, it wouldn't just be collectors of this signed set who would be interested. This isn't Hank Bauer we are talking about here. There would be plenty of interest from those who collect Joe D signed cards as well. Nice pickup for sure. Tom C
