In 1952 he managed the porterville comets. The Porterville Comets were the last minor league baseball team that operated out of Porterville, California. They played in the Southwest International League in 1952 and were an all-black baseball team. Could this be a team sweater? Porterville CA teams seem to have purple colors too. Furthermore, is it possible the logo on the 7 is a comet?
