In many cases, when the rookie card has priced someone out, the next best card is their next year. Many times a players second year card looks better than their rookie. I'm sure many on the board could provide excellent examples by posting some cards of Rose 63 / 64, Morgan 65 / 66, Seaver and Carew 67 / 68, Ryan and Bench 68 /69, and Munson 70 / 71, just to name a few. I love second year cards and some offer tremendous value compared to the rookie card.
