My buddy just bought this. Has a JSA letter, but I’m wondering if it is a banana Mantle fake? Best pic I can get. Experts?

Banana Mantles look like a banana. Go on ebay a look for the cheapest Mantle balls. You will see a thin loop that really looks like a Banana
