In my opinion, any one (if not all) of these GOODWIN CHAMPIONS (N162) are the "elite". The artwork and the lithography on these cards is at its best.
Especially, the Mike "King" Kelly card. Note the stormy-looking clouds the artist painted behind Kelly (perhaps to match his "stormy personality"). And, did you know that Kelly is the subject of America's first "pop hit" record......the song, "Slide, Kelly, Slide". ![]() Post WWII era 1949 LEAF baseball ![]() ![]() ![]() Joe DiMaggio's last BB card (in a major issue).
