Gehrig was a taciturn quy with very little to say. He would never have been anyone's choice for a newspaper column giving the inside scoop on anything. (And he wasn't.)
I bought the book and enjoyed it. But I really didn't learn anything about Lou I didn't know. The Gehrig columns were cool, but really just Lou saying this guy is a great guy, this guy is a great guy, this guy is a great guy. Fluff. I don't think Lou was a particularly reflective guy, and whatever real opinions he had on anything he wasn't sharing with a news writer. Comes off a very nice simple guy.
