| What is your most Aesthetically Pleasing Card:

Some cards are true works of art... I'll start this thread off with one of my two oldest 'art pieces': 1888 N28 Allen and Ginter MONTE WARD SGC-80.jpg

Just based on aesthetics. The scan doesn't do this justice.

it isn't baseball; but I think the N28 set (regardless of sport) are some of the most attractive cards ever made. There's something especially incongruent about bare knuckle boxers in a pastel that's additionally appealing. |

For me, it’s not a high dollar card or even a megastar’s card. It is the 1941 Play Ball Bobby Doerr. This is card is simply a work of art. It’s more pleasing to look at than my high dollar cards. I apologize that I’m not currently home, and cannot upload my card. However, I’m sure you all know the card. |

I have dozens of cards that I consider at the peak of aesthetic accomplishment. For the purposes of this thread, I have chosen this 1910 Obak of Coy. It has a great, unusual 'choking way up on the bat' pose, possesses a crystal clear and detailed artistic depiction of the player, and it helps that I have always been a sucker for skies on fire. Nearly impossible to beat the Stahl and Cobb Turkey Reds. I'd put the T3 Fred Clarke in that elite category as well. But outside of the obvious, below is another one that I always thought was simply gorgeous (e90-1 Rebel Oakes). I'm also a big fan of the 1941 Play Ball cards, with their art deco designs and vibrant pastel colors. Just picked up the Dolph Camilli (which may be my favorite in the set). |
