Jake Daubert grew up in the Pennsylvania coal mining region (not far from where we live). He was an outstanding 1st Baseman.
His batting and fielding performances were considered as the National League's equivalent of a Hal Chase at 1st base. His career spanned 15 years (9 with Brooklyn and 6 with Cinci). He had a respectable career BA = .303 and should probably be in the HOF. . . ![]() TED Z T206 Reference . |
