| Is this Babe Ruth photo a Type 1?

Hi, I'm not so familiar with Type 1 photos. Is anyone able to tell me if this Ruth photo is a Type 1? Thanks!

If that is not an original signature the answer is no. It would be a second generation photo. It is a nice silver gelatin print and appears to be on doubleweight paper.

Yes it’s an original signature. If it’s signed it can’t be a type 1? I once had a signed Gehrig that was a type 1. Thanks

It would have been helpful if this had been mentioned in the beginning. It does significantly impact the conversation.

Just the autograph is certified. I was wondering if it’s a Type 1 photo. Thanks

I still not convinced Ruth signed this. If he did, it was super late in life. Like 1948.

The photo is definitely vintage/period (you can see the silvering), but I don't know that it was made from the origal negative. None the less, either way it's a great and valuable photo. No knowledge or input on the signature. Last edited by drcy; 08-08-2020 at 01:49 AM. |
