I have a few Hank pieces in my collection (though not as many as I’d like), but this is easily my favorite. An original 1957 WS program in very nice shape.

Nolan Ryan vs. Hank Aaron
Here is one of my favorite Hank Aaron and Nolan Ryan items from my personal collection.
This is the Milwaukee Brewers Dugout card from the last time that Hank Aaron and Nolan Ryan faced each other. Aaron came into this game as a pinch hitter and struck out in their last matchup. The ticket was mine from this game. Ironically, Hank faced Nolan in his MLB debut on 9/11/66 @ NYM. This dugout card was signed by Hank Aaron at a signing in So Cal in 1998. Nolan signed this for me while it was on display at the Ryan Center (Nolan Ryan Museum) for several years from 1999-2005. Last edited by Scott Garner; 02-03-2021 at 06:13 AM. |

Here is my favorite Hank Aaron piece of the dozen or so in my collection . In 1993 I was in a consignment shop searching in a large box containing posters and I came across a box labeled “ Sports Illustrated “ . My curiosity got the best of me ( I was thinking swimsuit edition posters ) but inside the box were 100 rolled in plastic posters of this scene . I asked the store clerk how much and he said $1 each , so I paid the $100 and immediately called my baseball memorabilia partner . He is in Atlanta and I live near there and we had an in with the Braves and Aaron’s agent . After about 6-8 months of working around Aaron’s schedule , and let me tell you Aaron was one very busy and in demand person , we arranged to meet Aaron and his agent at old Fulton County Stadium where he would sign 200 items for us at the fee of $20 - $ 50 per item depending on the item. Aaron remarked that the full size posters directly from SI were something that he’d not signed before and he signed each one in the same spot but no inscriptions only his name .
We framed 40 , foam board mounted 20 , and rolled 20 to sell and we kept 20 each. This is still my favorite Aaron item I’ve seen and it’s not common in this larger size and in original condition, even the ball in flight is outlined . Sorry for the flip on the photos . I’ll correct later . Last edited by Klrdds; 01-22-2021 at 06:49 PM. |

Scott,
How can you not love Nolan Ryan and his incredible precision in signature placement?! It's as if the control he exhibited on the mound translates right into his signing habits! Look how the top of that signature is so perfectly framed within the uneven baseline of Hank's autograph! And he nearly touches the A with the R in Ryan, but of course that's just a tease! Nolan's the best! |

Vintage AP
Cant really remember when or how I came into this one, but loved that it is a vintage Aaron with a 4 HR gamer Adcock right there with him.

The above post renders my additions to this thread quite pedestrian, lol...WOW, just wow.
Anyways, I'm posting these from my collection...not so much because of their historical significance, but because I think they are beautiful examples of Aaron's signature on a classic autograph collectors' medium. RIP to a true legend! Last edited by Kaneen; 01-23-2021 at 03:23 AM. |

Ryan's signature is a classic & he obviously takes pride when he signs. So consistent when applying his sit down signature through the years... |

Not sparkly white like the new baseballs, but I love this MacPhail hand-painted ball.
