Hi Dale,
I believe those early cards turned green because of the chemicals that were used to make those shiny cards back in the early 1990's. Over time I've heard they turned green and it wasn't because of sunlight or humidity, nothing was going to stop them from changing colour. I've read how people have recently opened brand new and sealed boxes of 1996 Topps Chrome Basketball and the cards came out of the pack green. After 1997 Topps changed the chemical process of how Chrome cards are manufactured, that's why you don't see any green 1998 Chrome Vince Carter RC's!
