Thanks Chris and Brian. I also really enjoy the Jell-O ad. However, a Net54er has said that real Jell-O ads have a number on their bottom border. I bought this already framed and haven't had the courage to look to see if there is a number. I'll let my kids worry about it when I'm gone. Getting back to unframed posters, I did get the '62 Post poster from the same Net54er. Unfortunately it is sitting in a box waiting to be framed which won't happen until I can find more wall space. I'd like to move the Rawlings ad and put the Post ad next to the Jell-O ad. And I have the Yoo-Hoo poster that I also need to get framed (in a shadow box frame because of the faux frame on the poster). That would look great on the other side of the Jell-O ad.

Brian, I haven't seen the new Mantle card you're talking about. I have my eBay Mantle search set up to exclude anything after 1970. I'll have to take a look at it at some point.

Mike, you’d love the collection — they released 50 base cards for him—all of his Topps and Bowman issues for 1951-1969, cards that never were for 51, 54, and 55 Topps, a Dice Game, and a couple of modern cards. I’m working on the set as we speak as the price is right.

Where is the number supposed to be on the advertisement? I don’t think I have one on mine but I can check—all I have is the portrait side of the advertisement, but I know mine is real—the colors are spot on, I can’t imagine someone would have faked it and then cut it in half, and it’s autographed.

The 2021 Mantle set does look very interesting ... and affordable. But I'm still going to pass on it. I did get a bunch of the Mantle homerun cards from several years back and still wonder why I did it.

I went through my old emails and see that the the ID number on the Jell-O poster is "next to the bottom left corner of the Mantle photo." So I suppose that puts it near the center.

In looking through some auctions I think that’s correct. It looks like it’s just off to the side of the photo. I looked at mine and the spot where it would be has been cut off. Yours may be under the mat.

Chris:

I am the fellow who told Mike about the numbers on the Jello Mantle display piece. I won one from Heritage and asked if the numbers were there . It had been framed so they could not see it. They promised if I won it they would take it out of the frame to check. When they did it was not there so I did not buy it.

You can see the location ( although very small now) in this REA listing when you enlarge the photo by clicking it a few times to see the largest blow up:

https://robertedwardauctions.com/auc.../#&gid=1&pid=1

It used to be able to be magnified more than you can now.

But if you look under the "G" in Gelatin you will see what I recall says "Litho Made in USA" or something close to that. Then under the "T" in Dessert close to the photo you can see the small numbers Post/Jello put on all their display items. But as I say the numbers are too small to see now.

These should be on any original Jello Mantle display piece. This should help you IDing the one you have.

Here is a "new" 1/1 of Mick!

It is about 14" or 15" tall

Picked this up because I am sure someone will want this cool piece of folk art that is looking for a new home.
