Thanks for posting this Val.
I gave those dollar amounts some thought. With a final sale of $18,520 and a final bid of $15,434 that means a $3086.80 BP (20%). The 10% seller's fee on top of that should knock another $1,543.40 off of the consignor's check (final check: $13,890.60). But, according to this report, his check was for $13,590 (a seller's fee of $1844, or 11.9%), so there must have been some additional fees added in. Going with the reported 11.9% seller's fee and the 20% BP, the $13,590 check means the consignor got 73.4% of the proceeds, losing 26.6% of the final price to the AH. This seems like a lot of fees to me for a card that sold for 5 figures. Had it sold for $275 it would make more sense because of the smaller margin for the AH and the work still involved. On a $15,434 hammer I would have guessed there would be a 0% seller's fee and that the consignor might've gotten 5% of the BP back on top of that. I don't consign to AHs very often - what are people's thoughts on this?
