I'm only a couple of minutes in and am already ticked off with the interviewer. Cobb was offering some amazing insight by listing lesser-known pitchers who he had trouble with. This was, after all, perfectly answering the interviewer's question as to who were the toughest pitchers he faced. It was fascinating to hear him mention George Mogridge and Carl Weilman...then, the interviewer interrupts him just so he can hear Cobb say the obvious: Mathewson, Johnson, Young, etc. I did get a chuckle out of Cobb specifying "'Old' Cy Young"! Wouldn't want to confuse Denton with Irv!

This is great !
He seems advanced and ahead of his time .. he believes the Athletics Will “repeat” and the Cubs will “repeat “ Love his comment on the Athletics - “ they have a young club that has just found themselves “ - List great pitchers by their first and last name except for “ .. and Alexander” |

Sitting in the LazyBoy, a cup of coffee at hand, on a quiet Sunday morning and listening to Ty Cobb talk story. Life is good. Did a little searching and found a few more YouTube clips featuring the great man. One in particular that I enjoyed was a radio interview with Grantland Rice in the 'thirties. The narrative is accompanied by a dandy series of vintage photos. As a bonus at around the 4:12 mark Ty intones the name of Lajoie (which ought to end that debate once and for all).
