If you take a stack of current year Topps cards, place the stack flush on a solid flat surface, you can see that if you look closely the cards are all ever so slightly different heights. They still aren’t all the exact same size. Some variance is normal. However, there is a reason that most of the cards that jump out as short are otherwise nice condition hall of famers.
